AI Talks with Micheal Szul

1 October 2020

Building truly useful chatbots is a challenge. What if the problem isn't the code, but the way we construct the code and our process for improving the code? This session examines the conversation-driven development (CDD) approach to conversational software and natural language understanding based on recent explorations at Rasa. It also explores the theory of conversation analysis, showing how to apply interaction principles to conversational software design for better fluidity and responsiveness. Examples will be given in Microsoft's Bot Framework, Botkit, and Rasa, but we will also prototype conversation components from the ground-up to show how framework design can affect developer thoughts and decisions when building conversational software.
